Abstract
The regeneration of old urban areas is faced with various problems such as low spatial and environmental quality, functional decline and inadequate ability to cope with emergencies, and weak resilience, but the existing regeneration strategies lack attention to resilience. This paper aims to explore the regeneration strategy of old urban areas from the perspective of resilience, clarifies the connotation of resilience in the regeneration of old urban areas, and constructs a resilience analysis framework comprising four dimensions, including economic, engineering, environmental and social dimensions. The study proposes a regeneration path that integrates the concept of resilience into the whole process, and proposes a regeneration strategy for the old areas from four aspects, including production, living, ecology and governance, in order to improve the ability of the old areas to cope with risks. Keywords: urban resilience, old urban areas, risk response, urban regeneration
