dc.description.abstractIn a world driven by information and knowledge, considering the privilege of uni also its key role in process of physical and social change, this study aims to universities on the process of urban development and transformation. Within the not only the differentiations in the built environment, but also changing soc environments after hosting a university will be discussed. As a result of legal regulations, starting from 1990s there has been a significant number of state and foundation universities in Turkey and Istanbul in particular the purpose of the paper, after evaluating the spatial relationship between u Istanbul, the analysis conducted to determine the level of spatial and social selected foundation university neighborhoods of Istanbul will be evaluated.
